The Flange PTFE Lined Butterfly Valve from Waits provides assistance in controlling medium flow in corrosive chemical, high-temperature, or abrasive media environments. The PFA/PTFE lining forms an effective barrier between the medium and the metal shell, thereby enhancing the corrosion and wear resistance of the valve. This extends the service life of the butterfly valve and minimizes potential downtime.
The Flange PTFE Lined Butterfly Valve is a high-quality valve designed by Waits specifically for corrosive working conditions. The PTFE/PFA lining provides the best impermeability protection. Combined with dual axis sealing, this series of products can provide the highest operational safety even in corrosive and toxic media. PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is a linear crystalline polymer with a melting point of 327 ° C. Therefore, it is commonly used in butterfly valves. This PTFE lining is resistant to most chemicals and has corrosion resistance, covering most organic and inorganic acids and bases. Only molten alkali metals can corrode polymers. PTFE does not absorb a large amount of moisture and has low permeability to gases and water vapor. It is a tough polymer and a good insulating material. It also has a low coefficient of friction and self-lubricating properties, with values ranging from 0.02 to 0.10. Therefore, PTFE lining can significantly reduce the operating torque of valves.
PTFE, like other fluorinated polymers, has better heat resistance and can withstand high temperatures up to 260 ° C. Due to its high thermal stability, the mechanical and electrical properties of PTFE can remain stable for a long time even at temperatures up to 250 ° C.
In addition to high temperature resistance, PTFE also has excellent toughness and flexibility at low temperatures as low as -195 ° C. PTFE also has good strength and ductility, with a tensile strength exceeding 22.5 MPa and an elongation rate exceeding 250%.

(1) Composite valve seat made of PTFE and EPDM. the outer layer A is an EPDM rubber valve seat with sufficient elasticity; Inner layer B is lined with PTFE, which has excellent corrosion resistance and low friction.
(2) PTFE coated valve disc ensures that all wet surfaces in contact with the fluid are made of PTFE material.
