Waits Valve Forged Steel Bellows Globe Valve‌ features a durable bellows structure inside. The bottom of the stainless steel bellows is welded to the valve stem to prevent process fluids from corroding the valve stem. The other end is located between the valve body and the bonnet to form a static seal.

It uses a double seal design, and even if the bellows fails, the valve stem packing can still prevent leakage. The bellows are welded to the valve stem for stable performance and avoid vibration caused by valve core movement.

Metal bellows are key components in many sensing, sealing, fluid handling and actuation applications. Different manufacturing methods and material qualities have a significant impact on their reliability in terms of travel, pressure characteristics, spring rate and temperature response.

Depending on the project requirements, in many cases, formed bellows made of longitudinal seam-welded tubes may be the most cost-effective solution, such as stainless steel bellows with simple compensation. In addition to lower standard deviations in diameter and wall thickness, the possibility of micro-leaks and contamination around the weld seam is also reduced (e.g. in vacuum applications).
