The butterfly plate is located at the center of the pipeline, and a rod passing through the butterfly plate is connected to the actuator outside the valve. Rotating actuators can make the butterfly plate parallel or perpendicular to the direction of fluid flow. Unlike ball valves, butterfly valves are always located within the fluid flow range, so regardless of the valve position, pressure drop will occur in the fluid.
