The extension rod of the Waits Valve high quality Gear Wafer Butterfly Valve (Extension rod) is designed for use in areas where standard valve handles cannot be installed. They directly connect the actual valve stem to the reinstalled valve handle. The integrated valve stem extension is directly connected to the valve stem, with the movable valve stem exposed. The two-piece valve stem extension not only includes an integrated valve stem extension, but also comes with a housing. The outer shell serves as an outer sleeve, which is fitted onto the inner valve stem extension to protect the movable inner valve stem extension in buried applications. Both types of extensions are usually equipped with support brackets and support plates. They provide secure anchoring points for heavy-duty gear operating mechanisms on butterfly valves or prevent lateral movement of integrated lever handle extensions.
